Most songs about driving/racing are about speed and they are also at a fast tempo. When I started writing The Rad Racer, I set out to do something different. The power and the thrill of being behind the wheel of a high performance automobile - that's my inspiration for The Rad Racer.
That is something you feel immediately after turning the key, before even shifting into "Drive".
I purposefully slowed down the tempo to convey the power and carefully crafted edgy and uplifting melodies to give listeners the sense of exhilaration of driving these incredible machines. My rock and hip hop influences shine through on this one.
As with any Lazerbeam Sunset song, my goal is to make the listener feel something - The Rad Racer is no different.

This is the soundtrack of an 80's action movie scene where there is all kinds of action and the hero is in danger. But you know somehow the hero will overcome and save the galaxy, the city, the girl etc... and do it with style. Adventure '84 is what that sounds like.
